The Rapid Support Forces are a Sudanese paramilitary organization led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (known as Hemedti). Originally formed from the Janjaweed militias in Darfur, the RSF became a formalized paramilitary force in 2013. Since April 2023, the RSF has been engaged in armed conflict against the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in a war that has engulfed much of Sudan.
