The Israel Defense Forces are the military forces of the State of Israel, comprising ground forces, air force, and navy. The IDF is responsible for the defense of the state and its citizens. Since October 2023, the IDF has been conducting large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip and has engaged in cross-border operations with Lebanon.
