UNSC (United Nations Security Council)

The United Nations Security Council is the principal organ of the UN responsible for maintaining international peace and security. It has 15 members, of which 5 are permanent (U.S., U.K., France, Russia, China) with veto power. UNSC resolutions can authorize peacekeeping operations, impose sanctions, and authorize the use of force. Vetoes by permanent members frequently prevent action on active conflicts.
