The Tatmadaw is the official name of the Myanmar Armed Forces. Following the February 2021 military coup against the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi, the Tatmadaw established the State Administration Council (SAC) to govern the country. The military faces armed resistance from multiple ethnic armed organizations and the civilian-backed People's Defense Forces.
