The People's Defense Forces are the armed wing of Myanmar's National Unity Government (NUG), the civilian opposition government formed after the 2021 coup. PDF units operate across Myanmar in coordination with ethnic armed organizations to resist the military junta. They range from organized battalions to local self-defense groups.
