IRGC unveil new Strait of Hormuz map , shipping remains at standstill

On Monday, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy released a new map delineating its claimed control zone in the Strait of Hormuz, stretching from Qeshm Island westward to Umm al-Qaiwain and eastward to Mount Mobarak–Fujairah, as shipping traffic remained minimal despite US President Donald Trump's announcement of efforts to restore freedom of navigation. The security situation remains unchanged according to the Baltic and International Maritime Council, with hundreds of commercial vessels and up to 20,000 seafarers unable to transit the waterway pending Iranian consent for safe passage.
