Zohar : Hamas plotted October 7 attacks during Bennett - Lapid government

Culture and Sport Minister Miki Zohar claimed on Sunday that Hamas planned the October 7, 2023 attacks during the 2022 Bennett-Lapid government, attributing the planning to perceived weakness when an Arab party participated in the coalition—despite the attacks occurring under Prime Minister Netanyahu's administration. Former Prime Ministers Bennett and Lapid rejected Zohar's statements as an attempt to evade accountability, with Bennett stating the current government "transferred suitcases of dollars to Hamas" and allowed the militant group to strengthen, while Lapid accused the Netanyahu administration of ignoring warnings and strengthening Hamas "as a matter of policy."
