US embassy in Beirut says Lebanon is at ‘crossroads’, calls for meeting with Netanyahu

In a post to X, the US embassy in Beirut has called for a direct meeting between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming the country stands at a “crossroads” to “decide its own destiny”. The statement continued that a “direct engagement” between the countries, facilitated by the US, would “mark the beginning of a national revival” for Lebanon.
