Ukraine chokes fuel to Crimea, Russian consumers, targeting military supply

Ukrainian forces have intensified a campaign targeting Russian energy infrastructure and logistics, aiming to disrupt fuel supplies to occupied Crimea and the Russian mainland. Between July 3 and July 8, Ukrainian unmanned systems struck multiple targets, including the Saky and Guardsman airfields in Crimea, the Kerch oil transhipment terminal, and the St Petersburg oil terminal. Additionally, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck the Omsk refinery, located 2,500km from the border, and the Slavneft Yanos refinery. Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, claimed that 19 tankers, a cargo ship, and a ferry were struck between July 6 and 8. The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that 613 of 625 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight on July 7.
