The Turkish intelligence agency, MIT, has played a role in efforts to secure a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Turkish security officials said on Wednesday. The agency, which maintains communication channels with both the United States and the Iranian government, as well as Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), kept lines of contact open between the parties and helped prevent accidents and misunderstandings, the officials added.
