Russians attack Pokrovsk and two other fronts over 70 times – Ukraine's General Staff

What Happened

Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that 238 combat clashes occurred across the frontline in the past day, as of 08:00 on 17 October. Russian forces were most active on the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka and Kupiansk fronts. On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian forces repelled 30 Russian attacks near Toretske, Hruzke, Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Svitlе, Dobropillia, Serhiivka, Molodetske, Novopavlivka and Marivka. On the Kostiantynivka front, 18 combat clashes were recorded near Kostiantynivka, Dovha Balka, Druzhkivka, Novoselivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Mykolaipillia and Novopavlivka. On the Kupiansk front, Ukraine's defence forces repelled one Russian attempt to advance near the city of Kupiansk. Elsewhere, the Ukrainian General Staff reported 12 clashes on the North Slobozhanshchyna front near Novodmytrivka, Tovstodubove, Mala Slobidka, Buniachyne, Doroshivka, Neskuchne, Shpyl, Hrafskе, Sadky and Mohrytsia; 25 clashes on the South Slobozhanshchyna front near Starytsia, Mala Vovcha, Chuhunivka and Radkivka; five Russian attacks stopped on the Lyman front near Lyman, Zarichne and Dibrova; six attacks repelled on the Sloviansk front near Ozerne, Pyskunivka, Kryva Luka and Mykolaivka; one assault repelled on the Kramatorsk front near Dibrova; two attacks repelled on the Oleksandrivka front near Zaporizke and Komyshuvakha; 13 Russian attacks on the Huliaipole front near Vozdvyzhivka, Rivne, Andriivka, Kopani, Charivne and Yehorivka; and seven attempts to advance repelled on the Orikhiv front near Novoiakivka, Mala Tokmachka, Pavlivka, Stepnohirsk and Plavni. The Russians did not conduct any offensive operations on the Prydniprovske front, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.
