Reclaiming stolen childhoods: swimming classes resume in Gaza after three years of war

Hundreds of children in Gaza are participating in swimming classes held in makeshift sea pools constructed from sandbags and rubble. These classes, organized by volunteers on the beaches of central Gaza, offer a temporary escape from the ongoing conflict and trauma, allowing children to reclaim moments of normalcy and joy. The initiative aims to provide a safe space for hundreds of girls and boys to learn swimming skills and experience childhood activities amidst widespread destruction and lack of formal education.
