What Happened

The Israeli military announced on Sunday that it killed Ali Moussa Daqdouq, a senior Hezbollah commander, in a 'precise strike' south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon on Friday. The IDF stated that Daqdouq was responsible for orchestrating the 2007 kidnapping and murder of five U.S. soldiers in Karbala, Iraq, for which he was imprisoned by U.S. forces until December 2011, handed to Iraqi authorities, and then released in 2012 due to lack of evidence.
