Israel plans 'security zone' in Lebanon as one million face permanent displacement

An Israeli strike hit Beirut’s southern suburbs overnight, an area under a renewed blanket evacuation order as Israel expands its ground offensive in Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported. The orders, reissued earlier in the evening, are part of a series of evacuation directives that have been in place for weeks and now extend across large parts of southern Lebanon up to the Zahrani River, the report said.
