Israel is making Palestinians disappear in more ways than one

On 23 April, Haaretz reported that dozens of children disappear weekly in Gaza; the Palestinian Center for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared estimates 2,900 children have disappeared during the war, with 2,700 bodies presumed under rubble and 200 unaccounted for. An Al Jazeera investigation documented at least 2,842 Palestinians "evaporated" since October 2023, attributed by Gaza civil defence to Israeli use of thermal and thermobaric weapons, though the Israeli military denies the characterization and states it uses lawful munitions.
