Anatolii Hopka, a 41-year-old head of the energy and heat generation service for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), was killed during a Russian airstrike on an apartment building in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, on the night of 16-17 October. According to the SESU, Hopka's body was recovered from the rubble by his colleagues. The strike, which involved a high-explosive aerial bomb, resulted in damage to eight multi-storey buildings and the partial destruction of two others.
