Flydubai co-pilot’s time in Australia being investigated by security agencies after alleged cockpit attack

Australian security agencies are investigating an Omani national, identified by media as Hammam al-Hammami, who served as a flydubai co-pilot and allegedly attempted to hijack a flight to Tel Aviv, after he spent approximately two years in Australia as a student between 2015 and 2017. The investigation by the Victorian Joint Counter Terrorism Team, including ASIO, aims to probe the man's connections to Australia following the incident where passengers and crew intervened to prevent the plane from plunging thousands of feet.
