Drone use expands in Sudan – and kills at least 1,000 civilians in 2026

According to the United Nations, more than 1,000 civilians have been killed in drone strikes in Sudan since the beginning of the year. There has been a sharp increase in the use of drone warfare – a tactic marking a turning point in the three-year-war, which has created what the UN deems the "world's worst humanitarian crisis.
