Attacks on Hormuz shipping at wartime high, report says

NEWS SUMMARY
Iranian missile and drone attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz reached their highest intensity in the two weeks up to October 11, marking the most intense period since the conflict began seven months prior. This surge in attacks, with six vessels hit on October 11 alone, has led shipowners to reconsider carrying cargoes in the region and caused oil shipments through Hormuz to fall to their lowest daily volume this month.

Iranian missile and drone attacks on ships in and around the Strait of Hormuz were at their most intense in the two weeks to 11 October, the highest level since the US-Israeli strikes began seven months ago, the Financial Times reported. The next most intense period of attacks was during the first two weeks of March, when 13 ships were hit, the newspaper said, citing data from naval agency UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), which monitors marine security in the region.
